The recounting of Wylie's heroics again brought tears to my eyes. That kind of friendship is incredible. I have hope that California will survive, rebuild, and thrive again. All the best to you, your friends, and your beautiful family navigating the path forward. The music will help to guide you for sure. It's just the type of healing we can all use in America today. ✌️❤️
A gut wrenching story to read and try to imagine what you went through. I appreciate you sharing it. Godspeed on your recovery as a family and a community. Stay strong !
Happy to give you my old tele. Sounds great, looks bad. So sorry to hear about this for you, Mandy and your whole crew. Great job with kid management by the way!
I am so sorry. My anxiety started to go while reading about you on the call trying to open your garage door manually. We evacuated with our 3 teenagers in La Canada. Very different over here of course, as it never reached us but your story about those moments of knowing it’s time to go resonate. Thank you for sharing. Sending you strength.
This was hard to read! Thank you writing it though. This type of loss hits home a little-my father died in a house fire and my brother barely escaped! You will be in Iowa later this year!!! I hope to be there...Best of wishes. Material things are briefly missed, but family is forever missed. You guys were very blessed!!!
Thank you for this riveting first-hand account in written form. Written words illustrate family events unlike any other medium. This is a treasure for you and your family. It is worthy of being archived with other history accounts. My heart goes out to all that have lost homes, significant artifacts of a life being well-lived. Many Americans are holding all of the affected SoCal families close to our hearts. May the road rise up to meet you, Taylor, Mandy, lovely children.
I am so sorry to hear of what your family and neighborhood has gone through; especially the loss of Griff's home and your joint studio. Ever since I saw the alert of the first day of these fires, my heart has been broken for all those affected as I watched from afar in BC.
Thank you for sharing the song; the softness and somber quality feels appropriate.
My heart is with you, your family, and the community 🫶 My cousin, his wife, and two little ones lost their house too and I’ve been wrought with sadness for everyone feeling this grief. Amongst everything else, he lost all the hard drives of his film work over the years. Our art and instruments are so precious.
Sending strength and peace as you rebuild, both physically and emotionally. Thank you for your beautiful words and music 🙏♥️
This was beautiful and heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing. For your art. I am so sorry about your studio - I know so much lived and grew in that space and I know there will be more to come. DENA strong. We will rebuild and it will be beautiful.
I read something once that really struck me because I was a child who learned to be resilient very quickly.
Children aren’t resilient. They learn to be resilient, but it isn’t something they are born with, nor is it a natural tendency for them. And they learn by watching us.
Thats always stuck with me so much and it’s made me very aware of how I respond to traumatic instances around me to help shape the way these littles perceive traumatic moments, and how we can best equip them to become resilient. You did an amazing job. ❤️❤️❤️
Taylor, everything I love about you, your band, and the community you’ve created is on full display in your post and in the comments in reply. My wife and I send love from Dallas to you, Mandy, and your beautiful kids, as well as to your extended family and friends. Better days are ahead!
Thank you for sharing. I am so sorry for your unimaginable loss. Sending you and your community so much love and support. Grief of this kind is so hard. Sending strength while you navigate, process and rebuild. I hope you will continue to share your journey.

Beautiful and tragic all at the same time. My cousin and his wife also lost their home in Altadena. Our hearts and prayers are with you.
Thankful that you're all alive and healthy. Take things one day at a time for now...you'll get thru this.
